Indoor Air Quality

m.a.c. Paran Consulting Services, Inc.staff members have performed hundreds of indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations over the past decade in commercial and government buildings, schools, hospitals, and high-end residences. Our Certified Industrial Hygienist has a sub-specialty Certification in Indoor Environmental Quality and is a recognized expert in this field. Investigating the indoor environment is one of the most challenging areas of industrial hygiene. Our investigation protocol is based on our experience, current research, and state-of-the-art techniques, following guidelines from recognized authorities; EPA, NIOSH, ASHRAE, OSHA, AIHA, and ACGIH.

Investigation efforts range from odor identification to complex building performance issues. Common investigation techniques include: measurements of temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, airflow, and pressure differentials; inspections of occupied spaces, mechanical rooms, and HVAC system equipment; and more specific diagnostic measurements of organic vapors, particulate, and microbial contaminants.

Building moisture problems and resulting microbial growth and contamination have become prominent areas of investigation for m.a.c. Paran. Our moisture investigations include the latest infrared techniques and moisture measurement tools. We excel in defining areas of fungal growth versus fungal contamination, determining if atypical exposures to mold are occurring. If microbial problems are found, m.a.c. Paran can design microbial remediation specifications, provide remediation oversite, post remediation air sampling, and final report development. It is important to note that all m.a.c. Paran staff providing indoor air quality management are certified by the American Indoor Air Quality Council, or the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
